World Book Day

Today is World Book Day!

Normally we would be celebrating and doing lots of fun things, including dressing up and sharing stories. (We will celebrate together at some point when we return to school!)

For today, we can still celebrate by reading and sharing stories.

Why don't you read something you enjoy! What is your favourite book?

You could share a story with someone in your family, or with your toys.

Other ideas:

Create a story map of one of your favourite stories and then retell it in your own words.

Dress up at home; act out a story;

Draw/paint/collage a picture of a story character or your favourite part of a story.

I have chosen to share with you:

'The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers.

See the link below for a video and read aloud version of the story.

After the story, you could choose one these activities to do.

- design a poster persuading the crayons not to quit.

- Write a letter of reply from Duncan to the crayons.

- Create a picture that uses all the different colour crayons in your crayon set - just like Duncan does!
