Catholic children in Year 3 receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation in March and First Holy Communion in May. These Sacraments form an integral part of the life of the whole school and parish community.

Catholic children in Year 6 receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in June.

Children attend a special service of commitment before starting their preparation for receiving these Sacraments and special Masses are led by and held for these children throughout the year. Special prayers are also said for the children every week at Mass and in class, and prayer bags are sent home so that families can share in and support the preparation of their children for the Sacraments.

Preparation formally starts in the Spring term and is supported by school, parents and our parish priest working and meeting together. Regular parent meetings are held by the class teachers and the parish priest to ensure that parents are fully involved in this special event in their child's life.
