In today's phonics everyone will be learning the alternative spelling pattern for /oi/ sound.
e.g. /oi/ as in spoilt and /oy/ as in toy

Lesson 9 - To write an explanation text (part 2)

Task: Use your boxed up plan, which you created for your 'fantastical creature', and the 'explanation writer's toolkit', to write the next paragraph of your explanation text on 'gliding'.

Can you use your story map to retell your story to someone else or to your toys.

I have also attached a 'True or False' (T or F) question to make you think!
Maths Extension - Only If needed:
A questions are tricky, B questions make you think and C questions are Brain Buzzing.
(DO NOT DO ALL OF THEM, if you are getting them right move to the next level.If you are finding a little difficult drop back a level and do a couple of those).

T: To explore the technique of Frottage pencil rubbings.
Watch the 'pencil rubbing' video below which demonstrates how to make rubbings of different objects and materials.
Explore and practise making rubbings of objects and things in your house, using pencil/ crayons.
Make sure you check with an adult first that is safe/ okay to use the objects, before you make a rubbing!
After exploring and practising, look at the exmples of Frottage rubbing repeating patterns.
Challenge: Can you create a repeating pattern using the frottage rubbing technique?
