Special Events - Year 4 Visit a Gurdwara

On Wednesday 21st March 2007 Year 4 visited the Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) on Smethwick High street. The trip supported their learning in RE as part of their study of another faith, but also the school's India link.

Pupils were able to study Indian art in the temple's gallery; have a tour around the different parts of a Sikh temple; taste a range of Indian food in the food hall; have some quiet time to reflect and pray in the main hall of the temple.

Year 4 were also able to visit an Indian musical instrument shop on their way home, helping them to gather ideas for their DT project - making Indian instruments.

Thank you to all staff and parents involved who helped to make this an extremely useful and enjoyable trip.
