Special Events - Year 5 Trip to Singers Hill Synagogue
As part of the school's multicultural week, Year 5 visited Singers Hill Synagogue in
Birmingham. They were shown around the impressive building and taught about Jewish beliefs by Tally Rosenfield.
Pupils
were taught important Hebrew words, dressed up in traditional Jewish clothes, and shown important objects such
as the Torah scrolls, Menorah and the Arc.
Afterwards they enjoyed lunch in Birmingham's centenary
square.
As follow-up work, Year 5 made their own Torah scrolls and presented an assembly to the rest
of the school.
